University Research Suggests Limiting Fructose May Boost Weight Loss

November 2nd, 2008 by Egan C. | Filed under Weight Loss.

Research conducted at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center suggests that limiting fructose may help to boost weight loss. If you’ve been ingesting high fructose corn syrup (which most people do on a daily basis), now science says that if you stop, or limit your intake, you may be able to lose weight.

This is due to the fact that fructose bypasses the normal pathways that sugar is supposed to take within the body. You see, usually sugar makes its way through the liver which acts as a “traffic cop.”

Fructose goes around the traffic cop making its way directly to the bloodstream where it is easily converted to fat.

I’ve suggested for a long time that limiting your high fructose corn syrup intake can only help you lose weight. Now it’s a proven fact.
